We are Lorna, Nicky and Lydia, three local mums who know what it is to need a place of sanctuary in amongst the joy and chaos of bringing up young children!
We have fresh coffee, homemade cakes, toys for the little ones and plenty of time to chat.
Come and join us every Tuesday (in term time) at Carnation Hall, Chavey Down Road, Winkfield Row from 1.15-2.45 pm.
Every six months we take the church away for a weekend in order to cut out of our busy lives and spend some time together.
They are a good mix of teaching, extended times of worship and plenty of social time.
Every Friday morning, the ladies get together for a couple of hours, with or without children, for coffee, cake and time to catch up.
We also have regular ‘Girls Nights’ where we get together for a curry and a glass of wine.
Our kids groups run on a Sunday morning. The children stay in the main meeting with the adults and then have 40 minutes in their groups. We have a crèche for 0-3, groups for 4-5’s and 6-9’s, all are supervised
These weekends are notoriously good and adult musical chairs is legendary …!
The young people meet up midweek and have a fun-packed programme of games and social events, as well as covering topics that are relevant to their age group – debates, discussion and question time.
We run The Alpha course regularly. This is a 10-week course already enjoyed by over 8 million people around the world.
It consists of a meal in someone’s home and each week focuses on a key aspect of Christianity with plenty of time for all the questions you’ve always wanted to ask.
As a church we love food and most of what we do is centred around eating!
We eat at Alpha, at our midweek meetings, at our social events, at Christmas, Easter, anniversaries – any excuse for a good meal really.
What Alpha offers, and what is attracting thousands of people, is permission, rare in secular culture, to discuss the big questions - life and death and their meaning............
feasted on sumptuous Kebabs at the BBQ, supped pints of local Ale, bounced on the bouncy castle, fed the animals, got their faced painted and got competitive in the mini Olympics!
As well as being a great community event, we raised over £1000 for the charity Medair.
For the last two years we have hosted a village fete at Carnation Hall in September.
This year over 500 people attended and
