What are small groups?

As well as our Sunday meetings, many of us meet up in smaller groups during the week. Our groups are different sizes and flavours and all add to the life of the church.

Small Groups consist of around eight to twelve individuals who gather to study God’s Word and discuss the issues and challenges of life that we all face. It is also where we pray and care for one another and take communion.

Small Groups at Joel's Place

People grow best when they are connected in healthy small groups. We were never intended to live life alone, but we were created for relationships.

At Joel’s Place our Small Groups usually consist of a mixed group of people. Some having been Christians for a long time and some who may be new to the faith. Every week we eat together first, then each group works through a book of the bible, a chapter a week, we discuss and have time for questions.

These weekly meetings are a great opportunity to get to know people, form close friendships and share our lives together.

What do we do in small groups?

Small Groups are a great way to continue developing our faith and relationships with God as well as each other.

There are five main things you will see in our small groups:

We eat and chat together

We study the Bible

We have a discussion after the Bible study

We pray about things that are on our hearts and minds

We finish with tea's, coffee's and cakes!
